Lord Frederick Windsor announces engagement to actress

BBC News and other outlets report that Lord Frederick Windsor has announced his engagement to Miss Sophie Winkleman.  Lord Frederick is the son of TRH Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and the first cousin once removed of HM The Queen.

Discriminatory succession requirements on the chopping block

Two of the longest lasting and most controversial aspects of the British royal succession may soon be a thing of the past, if MP Evan Harris gets his way.  Christopher Hope, Whitehall editor of the Telegraph, ran a story last week that highlighted the Oxford West and Abingdon representative’s plans to propose changes to the constitutional requirements for becoming a monarch.

Buried in the text of the News of the World‘s exclusive revelation of a break up between HRH Prince Henry of Wales and Chelsy Davy was another quiet sign that a wedding is indeed on the cards for HRH Prince William of Wales and his own longtime girlfriend, Kate Middleton.
